Tribute To RAILA AMOLO ODINGA

BABA — The Flame That Refused to Die

(A Poetic Tribute to Raila Amolo Odinga)

From the cradle of the lake he rose,
Son of Jaramogi, carved by history’s prose,
A voice forged in fire, tempered by pain,
A heart that carried Kenya’s dream in its vein.

He walked through prisons, through shadows of chains,
Yet his spirit never bowed, nor broke under strains,
For freedom’s song burned fierce in his chest,
A patriot’s fire that gave a nation its rest.

He spoke when silence was safer by far,
He lit the path — a democratic star,
Through teargas and tyranny, ballots and blood,
He waded for Kenya through every flood.

O Baba, father of reform’s rebirth,
You carried the cross of a nation’s worth,
Through stolen dawns and promises torn,
Still, from your courage, hope was reborn.

You taught us that struggle is sacred and true,
That justice and liberty must start with the few
Who dare to defy, who stand when they fall,
Who give of themselves — the greatest of all.

In parliaments, rallies, and whispers of night,
You guarded the flame of the people's right,
And though weary the journey, the road still long,
Your name is a banner, your legacy strong.

Kenya remembers — her sons and her soil,
The years of exile, the tears, the toil.
For democracy breathes by your daring breath,
And freedom was born through your defiant death —
Of comfort, of silence, of living small —
Baba, you chose to stand for all.

So rest not, hero, in history’s hall,
Your voice still echoes in every call
For justice, for unity, for love of the land —
Baba Raila Amolo Odinga, we stand.
